click here to see more pictures. Prince Edward Island is a great place to go if you want to relax and enjoy the sea side. It took about 15 hours to get there, road stops included. There were plenty of vintage motel signs along the way.

click here to see more pictures. July 2 we caught a ride with friends down to family camp in Barnet, Vermont. We spent an hour shopping around for water shoes. After visiting Rite Aid and Wal Mart, we found a pair for five dollars at Oceanside Job Lot. I also bought a liter of water for twenty cents. Read the rest of this entry »

click here to see more pictures. Marjolaine Robert had an exhibition of paintings at Mile End Gallery from May 18 - 22, on Avenue du Parc in Montreal. Marjolaine painted acrylic on on paper and on canvas, imaginative and poetic images, many with horses. Here are a few photos from the opening.

click here for more pictures. The 2009 Expozine Alternative Press Awards Gala took place last night at Le Divan Orange in the Plateau region of Montreal. Prizes were given to honor the best publications sold at 2009’s Expozine small press, comic and zine fair in Montreal. Alexis O’Hara was MC for the evening. Tony Ezzy provided rousing music after words. People got up to dance and had time to purchase some of the publications available.

Spring break in Montreal, what better time to go on a little train trip and to check out job possibilities in neighboring communities… The trip was a bit of an adventure. Due to a derailed freight train, passengers waited two hours in Cornwall, Ontario, while crews finished clearing the track. As compensation for the delay, passengers received free snacks, coffee and internet.

click here to see more pictures. Last weekend I visited Michael Waterman’s studio in Guelph, Ontario. It was filled with interesting objects, audio equipment, old musical instruments. He transformed the inside of a garage into a house of invention, where he produces interesting sights and sounds.

Last weekend I caught a ride with friends to Chander, Quebec and had a quick visit to Perce Rock. The road was slippery and windy at times. The weather calmed down the next day.
