click here to see more pictures. Dave Lane worked over three years as gym teacher and then music teacher in Kangirsuk. He generously made time available to open the gym to the public several times a week for sports, such as floor hockey and volley ball and for weekly music jam sessions. Each year he organized Inuit games at Sautjuit School, and was active in many events and activities. Dave Lane is returning to university to do a Masters Degree. It was a sad parting. Dave cried all the way from Kangirsuk to Kuujjuaq.

click here to see more pictures. June 17, 2009 the end of the year picnic happened for Sautjuit School at Post Lake, a few kilometers outside Kangirsuk. Kids have to bring their own food, wrote the principal on the blackboard. Kitty Annahatak was quite upset about the situation. Kitty talked to Dave Lane and Steven Roberge, between the three of them they organized fund raising to buy food and obtain country food.
click here to see more pictures. Dave Lane hosted Kangirsuk Idol on Monday night in Kangirsuk. People from the community were invited to perform. Best performers were chosen from three categories based on age. A DVD of the performance was made. It was a highlight event for the month of June in Kangirsuk, thanks to the effort of Dave Lane to make it happen.
click here to see more pictures. First week of June, teachers who won’t be back next year bring boxes to the airport. Everything has to be packed and shipped south. Clean up the house, get ready to go. I have one more weekend in Kangirsuk. This is your last chance to have your photo taken. Let me know if you want me to take your picture. On June 23 I’ll be gone.
click here to see more pictures. Minnie Annahatak graduated from Sautjuit School, Kangirsuk. The celebration took place on June 5, 2009, with speeches, presentations, generous gifts, a wonderful cake and festivities. Congratulations Minnie Annahatak!
